STEP 1: Set up Inviso Account's Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
NOTE:
All the steps in PART ONE can be done with either a personal laptop or an Android/iOS phone. We recommend that all the steps in PART ONE are completed with a personal device (a laptop or an Android/iOS phone) to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
Multifactor authentication (MFA) enhances security by requiring several verification steps to confirm your identity when accessing your Inviso account. MFA enhances data protection and prevents unauthorized access. This guide covers most scenarios where Microsoft may prompt you to set up MFA.
Instructions:
- Open a private browsing window.
- Go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup.
- Log in with your username and password.

- While logging in, you may be prompted with the following:

- Click Next.

On your computer, it will show the image below:

- Stay on this page for now.

On your phone, look up the Microsoft Authenticator app on your device’s store app (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play Store).
- Below is how the app should appear on a typical Android phone.

- Tap Install to install the app. Wait till completion of installation before moving to the next step.

On your computer, hit Next once you have installed the Microsoft Authenticator app.

- Open the installed Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone.

On your phone, please read the Privacy Statement and press Accept to continue.

- You may opt to share your app usage data with Microsoft for app improvements. Press Continue once you have made the decision.

- On your phone, tap the Skip button at the top right corner of the screen (for Android).

- Tap the +(the “plus” sign) button at the top right corner of the screen (for Android) to add an account.

- Upon seeing the following screen:

- Select Work or school account.

On your computer, you should be on the following screen:

- Click Next and you will see the following screen with the QR code:

On your phone, you will see the following pop-up. Choose Scan a QR code.

Your phone should be asking for app permission to use the camera. On Android, you may choose either While using the app or Only this time to proceed to use the camera.

- The camera on your phone will activate. Aim the camera at the QR code displayed on your computer.

On your phone, the account you have just added will show up per the following:

On your computer, hit Next.

On your computer, you will see that Microsoft is sending out a test code:

On your phone, it will look like this (for Android):

- Once you have used the code to authenticate on your phone, you will see the following on your computer:

- Click Next to proceed.
- The Microsoft Authenticator app method is now successfully added.
